MCW Pharmacy School - Research Certificate Program

In collaboration with Froedtert & MCW Pharmacy Department, the School of Pharmacy has developed a research certificate program designed to provide participants with the foundation to conduct research projects and support those interested in pursuing a career with continued scholarly efforts. The Program is designed to enhance research quality and collaboration amongst ʼһ (MCW) School of Pharmacy, Froedtert & the ʼһ (Froedtert & MCW), Children’s Wisconsin, Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, and other greater Milwaukee partners.

Program Requirements

  • Attendance at 100% of Research Development Series sessions
  • Active participation in the Research Development Series sessions, whether joining live or virtual
  • Completion of a brief quiz after each session [Required - Due 30 days after each session]
  • Program evaluation and feedback [Required – Due 30 days after each session]
  • Abstract Submission [Required - Due 4/1 of every year]
  • Poster or oral presentation at a national-, regional-, or state-level meeting [Required - Due 6/1st of every year
  • Poster presentation at the MCW School of Pharmacy Research & Scholarship Forum in early Spring [Required]
  • Preparation of a manuscript suitable for publication in a peer-reviewed journal [Optional]

Enrollment

Enrollment

  • Enrollment is open in March – July.
  • Commitment to the program is required by early July.
Group of people in a large lecture hall gather to hear a research presentation.

MCW Annual Research and Scholarship Forum

The MCW Research & Scholarship Forum is held annually in the Spring of every academic year and garners over 250 attendees. The Forum allows pharmacy and affiliated faculty, staff, students, residents, fellows, pharmacists, preceptors and associated healthcare providers an opportunity to display and discuss their posters with interested attendees. Top abstracts are selected for a 10-minute presentation. Designation is based on 1st author placement.
