Biography
A native mid-westerner. Dr. Atzenhoefer started his schooling in Duluth, Minnesota. His commitment to academic excellence garnered shined as he completed his undergraduate training Summa Cum Laude and earned his medical doctorate Magna Cum Laude.
He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Froedtert & the ʼһ and subsequent Cardiology Fellowship at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center where he served as Chief Fellow. He was recognized by the American College of Physicians as a Young Achiever and earned Outstanding Medical Student Teacher Award during residency. During cardiology fellowship, he led multiple successful research projects and authored multiple publications earning him the Fellowship Research Award.
His passion for community and the underserved was supported through the Dr. Elaine Kohler Global Health Scholarship where he volunteered with the German Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders.
His rural cardiac CT program earned global recognition in imaging quality and relate research was invited for presentation at the Society of Cardiovascular CT global conference in 2024 commending the program he built Additionally, success with remote pulmonary artery pressure management of heart failure patients sparked local, regional, and national interest where he has been invited to speak regarding the technology and his utilization strategy.
