Research Interests

In the LaViolette lab, I will be working to create and validate MRI imaging techniques to improve treatment efficacy for prostate cancer patients. Treatment of prostate cancer, ranging from active surveillance to radical prostatectomy, is dependent upon cancer severity. The grade discrimination of prostate cancer is imperfect and can result in overtreatment. My research will be focused on using machine learning algorithms to better understand what differentiates prostate cancer with high metastatic risk from cancer cured by surgery.
