Biography
Hey, I’m Nathan and I grew up in Menomonee Falls, WI. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2021with a degree in Genetics and Genomics. During undergrad I was a member of the UW Marching Band, worked in a carrot genetics research lab, studied abroad in Ecuador, and helped found UW’s Pre-genetic Counseling Student Organization in 2020. Following graduation, I began working at PPD as a scientist in the biopharmaceuticals group, and I continue to work there part-time while attending graduate school.
My time abroad showed me the importance of appreciating the perspectives of those with different backgrounds, life experiences, and stories than myself. The idea of opening myself up to the perspective of others, especially those of my patients, is something I will carry with me throughout my career as a genetic counselor.
In my free time I like to connect with friends that have moved to other parts of the country whether that’s through gaming or traveling to visit them. I am a member of MCW's Orchestra and also enjoy listening to music of all kinds. I love spending time outdoors with others and hiking/playing sports/having a campfire.
I feel extremely fortune to be a part of the second GC cohort here at MCW, and I am looking forward to building lifelong connections with my teachers and classmates during my time here!
