Biography
Heidi W. Steinecker has over twenty years of experience leading public health policy and healthcare delivery systems. She currently consults government leaders on how to lead strategic, organizational change processes in public health and healthcare services to implement proactive approaches that result in fewer population fatalities, greater workforce retention, improved quality, safety, and access to care. Heidi was formerly the California Deputy Director of Public Health during the COVID-19 pandemic and she uses her diverse experiences in public health policy and healthcare operations to provide a holistic approach to solving complex issues where government regulations, emergencies, and healthcare intersect. She pairs purpose driven data systems with people led processes to provide positive transformational changes in facilities, communities, states, and countries. She specializes in global health security; public health and healthcare operations; strategic health policy implementation; analytics-based emergency response; and healthcare system strengthening.
Her Research Interests are Global Health and Reducing Healthcare Acquired Infections in High Risk Infectious Disease Regions of the World.
