Biography

Dr. Williams received his BA from Anderson University in secondary education, social studies and sociology. His master’s degree in psychological counseling is from the University of Notre Dame. He earned his PhD in psychology from Indiana State University where he was the Imogene E. Okes. He completed a predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in geropsychology and neuropsychology at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, AR. After completion of his clinical training in 1997, he was appointed to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as Assistant Professor and Director of Neuropsychology Service. In 2005, he joined Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, North Little Rock Division as the Director of Postdoctoral Training. Dr. Williams also served as neuropsychologist for the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. Dr. Williams is presently a psychologist at the Spinal Cord Injury Division and Ethics Consult Co-Coordinator of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. His specialties are mentoring, supervision, ethics, neuropsychology and rehabilitation.

Research Interests

Dr. Williams is a Fellow of the Arkansas Psychological Association, Phi Delta Kappa and Veterans Health Administration Certified Mentors. His academic interests include mentoring, ethics, spinal cord injury and related disorders, neuropsychological assessment, dementia and related disorders, neuropsychological effects of pharmacological interventions, multi-disciplinary training, clinical supervision, movement disorders, as well as chronically debilitating medical and psychiatric disorders. His teaching efforts include psychology graduate students, interns and fellows. He’s also active in medical student and resident education in ethics, rehabilitation and spinal cord injury at the VA Medical Center.
