Why I chose to do my fellowship with MCW: It has always been my dream to work at Children's Wisconsin growing up in southeast Wisconsin. This hospital provides amazing care for my home state and has a large catchment area which meant I would see anything and everything during my training. Being able to get delivery experience any time I am on the unit as well as seeing complex surgical neonates in a level IV NICU meant I will get the best exposure and experience during fellowship. Lastly, the mentors at MCW are some of the best, and I am lucky to be able to learn from them.
One of the best things about living in Milwaukee: The summers…and getting to attend all different festivals and park events. Last year my husband and I got a park pass for one near our house and attended weekly events with our newborn son throughout the summer season.
