Charlotte Formeller, MD

Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellow

Biography

Hometown: Oxford, England, but since moving to the US have grown up in Palatine, IL

Medical School: Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Chicago Medical School

Residency: 皇家华人 and Affiliated Hospitals

Research/Scholarly Project: As a first-year fellow I am still navigating all of the opportunities within Pediatric Infectious Diseases but have found niche interest in the immunocompromised host, including both patients with oncologic diagnoses and HIV.

Mentors: Dr. Anna Huppler; Dr. Michelle Mitchell

Research Interests: Viral prophylaxis in pediatric patients undergoing BMT

Interests and Hobbies: I love spending my time outside the hospital gardening or baking with my family! I'm still trying to figure out the best plants that are resistant to my toddler and all the times I forget to water them.

Why did I choose MCW for fellowship? I was lucky enough to get to know the MCW team during my time as a resident. Throughout the interview process, it was hard to find a reason to leave MCW. This department is a powerhouse of supportive, approachable, inspiring pediatric infectious disease physicians that I feel so lucky to learn from.

One of the best things about living in Milwaukee? The people! Midwest nice is a real thing, everyone cares about you not only as a learner but your life outside of the hospital also.
