Research Scientist I

Biography

I received my doctoral degree in India where I performed studies on identifying T cells-associated immune responses, immunopathologies, and host-pathogen interactions in the infection-triggered autoimmune disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome. Additionally, I focused on the identification and association of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in infectious and autoimmune diseases to assess host genetic factors in the development of the diseases. During postdoctoral studies from Immunology and Oncology laboratories at the NIH and Osaka University, my research focused on IL-6-mediated inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and breast cancer in order to reveal novel signaling pathways and RNA-protein interactions those implicated with posttranscriptional regulation and involved in the development of inflammation and progression of the diseases.

I joined Dr. Radhakrishnan’s laboratory as a postdoctoral fellow in 2021. In the current position, my research focuses on to develop CAR-T cells for novel cancer immunotherapy and to uncover methods to conquer CAR-T cell resistance.
