Monkeypox: Cases and Vaccines
As cases of monkeypox are rising across the country, Dr. Ben Weston states that the general population does not necessarily need to be concerned. He reiterates the fact that monkeypox is not a sexually transmitted disease. When it comes to vaccines, here are the three general groups who can receive one: 1) sexual partner within last two weeks who has been diagnosed, 2) attended an event with known exposure, and 3) men who have had multiple male sexual partners recently. In the Milwaukee area, Cudahy has a vaccine clinic and other areas are beginning to start them up as well.
