Biochemistry Faculty Recognized During 2024 MCW Faculty Awards and Honors

Several faculty members in the Department of Biochemistry were honored recently at the 2024 Faculty Awards and Honors ceremony. This yearly institutional event honors faculty who have received awards, reached service milestones, and have been promoted to new positions. Congratulations to all of our faculty members who were honored this year!

Dr. Nancy Dahms, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Biochemistry, was one of three recipients of MCW's highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award. This award honors members of the MCW community who have contributed significantly and impactfully to the institution.

Dr. Ravi Misra, Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, was honored for his 30 years of service to MCW, including his work as Dean of the School of Graduate Studies. MCW recognizes the contributions of its long-term faculty members every year in increments of five years.

Dr. Stephanie Olivier-Van Stichelen received promotion to Associate Professor. This rank is a recognition from the institution of continued scholarly and professional contributions to the advancement of biomedical knowledge.

Dr. Jong-in Park, Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, received the Eminent Scholar designation. The Eminent Scholar Program recognizes and rewards the academic and scholarly achievements that typically are funded through Named Faculty Positions.

Dr. Daisy Sahoo, Professor of Medicine and Secondary Faculty in the Department of Biochemistry, was recognized for her new position as Dean of the School of Graduate Studies. She also was recognized for her new Named Faculty Position as Women in Science Professor. These positions are supported by community philanthropists.
