Anthony J. Perez, MSEd, Named Executive Director of the MCW/Marquette Medical Alumni Association
Anthony J. Perez, MSEd, has been appointed to the position of Executive Director of the MCW/Marquette Medical Alumni Association, effective October 1. The appointment was announced by Betty S. Pace, MD ’81, GME ’84, President of the MCW/Marquette Medical Alumni Association Board, and Jason Kraiss, Vice President, ʼһ (MCW) Office of Institutional Advancement, following a national search.
“I am incredibly honored and excited by this opportunity to collaborate with MCW alumni here in Wisconsin and across the country to accelerate our education mission and continue our growth as a nationally respected source for health-related education,” Perez said.
“With nearly a decade of experience at MCW, this institution has become deeply integrated into both my personal and professional life,” Perez added. “I am excited to further strengthen our alumni connections and build a community that continues to support and elevate MCW.”
“Anthony has existing strong relationships with many of our alumni having served as interim director from February of 2019 to March of 2020,” said Kraiss. “I am confident that he is the right person to hold this critical role as we seek to invite our alumni to continue and broaden their support for MCW.”
Perez joined MCW in 2015 and has served in leadership positions responsible for student recruiting, enrollment marketing, and national outreach. As a key leader in efforts to attract students to apply to the MCW Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Graduate Studies, he has an extensive background in organizational strategy, budgeting, and educational marketing, Perez received his undergraduate degree and his master’s degree from Northern Illinois University.
Perez was selected after a national search led by Marla Habert, Assistant Vice President, Philanthropy. The search committee included alumni, faculty, and staff and involved key leaders, including John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, President and CEO of MCW and Professor of Medicine, and Joseph E. Kerschner, MD, the Julia A. Uihlein, MA, Dean of the School of Medicine, Provost, and Executive Vice President of MCW.
The MCW/Marquette Medial Alumni Association is dedicated to facilitating the lifetime connection of alumni and students with the ʼһ and each other. MCW educates and trains more than 1,600 students annually across its Medical, Pharmacy, and Graduate Schools. MCW’s 20,000 alumni contribute to patient care and new knowledge discoveries throughout Wisconsin, the nation, and around the globe.
